Description

Fragments of bone brought to the surface during auguring of foundations for a dutch barn in July/August 1961 were identified as human. These came from the centre one of three piers on the south end of the barn. Excavations in September 1963 by George Rybot revealed a roughly rectangular grave with a skeleton on its left side and aligned north-south with head to the south, facing west. No dating evidence was found, but the excavators thought a late prehistoric date most likely.
