Description

Salvage excavation of a crouched inhumation exposed in the root bowl of a tree blown over in the south-west corner of the wood. The skeleton was radio-carbon dated to the Late Neolithic-Early Bronze Age period (2900-2600 cal BC/2920-2490 cal BC). This primary burial was then disturbed by a Later Bronze Age cremation. Iron Age and Roman finds were also recovered.
