Description
An evaluation consisting of two trenches were positioned across a site of proposed housing development to to the rear (west) of numbers 91 to 93a, Stour View Gardens..
Trench 1 was a linear feature which revealed a compacted sandy layer above a gravel and flint deposit of approximately 1.5m wide. To the south-east two small pits were uncovered, each associated with a dark silty fill and both were approximately 1m wide and 0.4m deep.
Trench 2 measured 10m by 2m and at its deepest this trench was dug to 0.8m to identify a feature presumed to be a tree-disturbance.
No presence of any surviving archaeological features at this site were identified.
