Description

BUARC, Bournemouth University's archaeological field unit, was commissioned by Lester Brunt Partnership LLP. to undertake an archaeological evaluation on land at the rear of Rear of Dickens House, 15 West Borough, Wimborne, Dorset. The evaluation project was requested by Christchurch and East Dorset Councils in response to a planning proposal by Lester Brunt Partnership LLP (Ref: 3/16/0057/FUL) for a proposed development to extend and alter the existing buildings on the site to form extra office accommodation. The archaeological evaluation project has indicated that a series of post medieval walls are present on the site, broadly consistent with those depicted on OS mapping. A series of pits were also recorded in each trench and are interpreted as representing features associated with post-medieval use of the site.
