Description

AC Archaelogy conducted an archaeological evaluation in advance of a proposed housing development at Christmas Close, Wareham during 1994. Six trial pits were dug by machine, each approximately 3m by 1.5m, and excavated to the underlying natural. Several of the pits revealed deep modern disturbance. No archaeological features were discovered. A single flint flake of prehistoric date was recovered from Pit 4. The archaeological contractors concluded that there was low potential for survival of archaeological deposits within the development area as a whole.
