Description
Poole Museum Service Archaeological Unit undertook an archaeological evaluation on the proposed site for a new cemetery at Moortown, Magna Road, Poole in January 1996. A total of fifteen machine trenches were excavated. These trenches were mainly targeted to assess a number of geophysical anomalies identified by an earlier geophysical survey of the area by Oxford Archaeotechnics. The fieldwork revealed a probable Late Bronze Age pit as well as a number of post-medieval field boundary ditches.
