Description

Identification of potential archaeological constraints on four design options for new facilities and pipelines. Does not recommend any one option but concludes that option 4 (Wool STW) would encounter the greatest density and range of archaeological constraints, including scheduled monuments. Landscape characterised by lynchets and boundary embankments of prehistoric and medieval field systems, Neolithic and Bronze Age barrows, Prehistoric artefact scatters, sites of former Roman and medieval settlements, occupied settlements of Saxon and medieval origin and Bindon Hill Iron Age hillfort.
