Description
One of SMR numbers 0022-0030. Directed by Cree and Cunnington in the 1800s, no specific date given on the NMR record. HER comment: a location north of the A35 seems more likely for this excavation 'on the heath'.
The Dorset Natural History and Antiquarian Field Club visited Came and Owermoigne on 22 June 1908, where they were welcomed to Owermoigne Court by the owner Mr G Cecil Cree. In his welcoming address Mr Cree referred to a barrow on the heath at Owermoigne being opened by Edward Cunnington and Mr Gee's father. <1>
