Listed Building record MDO10735 - Icehouse at Parnham House, Beaminster

An icehouse situated within and possibly contemporary with a walled garden, thought to date to around 1800. The icehouse is visible as a large mound.

‘Parnham. This icehouse is shown on the 6in, ordnance survey map sheet 29. It is situated on the opposite side of the river to the House, and is in a walled garden which dates from about 1800. The icehouse is visible as a large mound but much overgrown. About eight years ago it was not considered safe to enter, though in about 1945 the owner was told that it had been used within living memory.
