Full Description
Grove House is a large detached house in Rax Lane, built in the early 19th century, but has been modernised -- the east wing has been largely rebuilt. It is of three storeys with a double pile plan with two parallel hipped slate roofs. It has a symmetrical five-bay classical façade of yellow brick with stone dressings, an eaves cornice and parapet, and a central ashlar porch with Roman Doric columns. The north façade has stucco pilasters at either end and a central doorway with three-quarter columns. The side walls are red brick. (1) (2)
