Full Description

An axe, of middle Bronze Age type, flanged with a deep steep ridge, was found in a field called Napps centred at ST 63940657. The axe, in the possession of the Cockburn family, is six inches long, the blade is unsplayed and 1 and a half inches broad. It was possibly found in 1863 when the field was dug for drainage. The field, now grass covered displayed no signs of a barrow or other antiquity. <1>
