‘The following monuments, unless otherwise described, are of the 17th century and of two storeys; the walls are of rubble and the roofs are of modern tiles or slates. Some of the buildings have exposed ceiling-beams and original fireplaces. … (17) House, No. 14, 70 yards N.W. of (16), has an early 19th-century shop-front consisting of two bowwindows of unusual shape and a doorway in the centre, all set back behind the building-line within a deep recess framed by reeded architraves and bressumer with reeded fascia (fig. p. 148).’
