Listed Building record MDO14270 - Parish Church of St Peter, Portesham

Parish Church. C12 remains in nave, C13 nave walls, west tower and chancel, C14 refenestration (chancel), C15 refenestration (nave), C16 north and south aisles and south porch, C17 fenestration (nave), and tower doorway. Portesham rubble and dressed stone walls. Slate (chancel) and lead (nave and aisle) roofs.

The parish church of St. Peter, Portesham, is mainly late 15th century with traces of earlier work. The walls are of Portland rubble with dressings of the same stone. The nave was built in the late 12th century and the chancel in the 13th century. Extensive re-building took place in the 15th and 16th centuries. The south porch, built around this period, contains 12th century materials. The roofs are modern. <3>
