Full Description
SY53059045. Half of an unfinished pebble hammerstone made of quartzite was found near Hodder's Copse. It is 14cm long by 11cm wide, a typical hour-glass drilling had caused it to fracture before completion. <1>

'Half of an unfinished pebble 'hammer-stone' was found by Mr T. Foot near Hodder's Copse, Litton Cheney at SY 53059045. The original quartzite pebble had a length of 14 cm. and a width of 11 cm. Typical 'hour-glass' drilling from both sides had caused the pebble to fracture along the central line of weakness before the operation was completed.'
