(ST 65112005) Manor House (NR). (1)
Poyntingon Manor House: The house was built in the late 15th or early 16th century, and was altered in the 17th century. There have been subsequent minor additions (2) Grade II (3). (2-3)
The house is well preserved. According to Mrs Urwick the deeds date back to 1492 and the Manor House, as it is now known, has no manorial rights. (4)
Poyntington Manor House is an interesting example of the period; it is extremely well maintained. See G.Ps. (5)

‘(2) Poyntington Manor House (Plate 98), 100 yards N.E. of the church, is of two storeys; the walls are of rubble and the roofs are tiled. It was built late in the 15th or early in the 16th century on a courtyardplan; ranges of buildings survive on three sides of the courtyard, the fourth, W., side is open; whether it was closed by a range or a wall originally is uncertain. The house was altered in the 17th century and there have been minor additions of subsequent date. … '
