Full Description
Near the key (in Elizabeth's reign), in the road leading to the Cobb, was the Cobb Gate, where was collected a toll on every article brought into the town. <1>
The Cobb Gate stood on the site now occupied by the public convenience (SY 34229209). No trace of it now remains. <2>
