Summary

A detached cottage thought to have been built in the 18th century. The building has walls of roughcast cob and a thatched roof. In 1975 it was reported that surviving original features included a large open fireplace, much altered, and some exposed ceiling beams.

Full Description

SU 08450882. A much altered single-storey cottage of 18th century origin, with cob walls and a thatched roof. A deeply chamfered beam appears to be from elsewhere. <1>

‘(14) Cottage (08450882), of one storey with attics, has cob walls and a thatched roof. It is probably of 18th-century origin, but it has been much altered; the original plan appears to have been of class T. A deeply chamfered beam is probably from elsewhere.’
