Listed Building record MDO16076 - Oak Tree Cottage, Howe Lane, Verwood

A detached single-storey cottage with attic thought to have been built in the 18th century, but with later additions and alterations. The building has cob walls and a thatched roof with a brick chimney stack. In 1975 it was reported that surviving interior features included a large open fireplace with a wooden lintel, and ceiling beams.

‘Unless otherwise described, the following cottages are single-storeyed with attics and have cob walls, thatched roofs and class-S plans. They date from late in the 18th to about the middle of the 19th century. … SOUTH VERWOOD … (44) Cottage (08450808).’
