Summary
A cottage thought to have been built in the eighteenth century with an attached show of twentieth-century date, the former post office. The building has walls of stone rubble, with a stone slate roof with stone chimney stacks. The interior is reported to retain a large open fireplace with the remains of a bread oven.

‘The following monuments unless otherwise described are of two storeys, or in a few instances of one storey with attics, and have walls of local Purbeck stone rubble and stone-slated roofs; they are of the late 18th or early 19th century. … (6) Post Office (60 yds. E.), house with modern shop added.’
