Full Description
A cairn, Diameter 17 paces, height 3ft on Hog Leaze. <2>
A grass covered cairn with a large number of flints exposed. Diameter 13.0 meters, height 1.2 metres. No trace of a surrounding ditch or excavation. It has the superficial appearance of a bowl barrow in contrast to the true cairn. <3>
SY 73179931. Bowl barrow, 40ft diameter and 3ft high on Hog leaze near the summit of a ridge. <4>
SY 73189931. Bowl barrow under grass, not ploughed over. Diameter 18.0 metres, height 1.1 metres. No visible ditch. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <5>
The site of a Bronze Age round barrow is marked on the OS first edition map on HogLeaze, Piddletrenthide. It is visible as an extant earthwork on lidar imagery <7> and was digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
