Full Description
At ST 73030234 and ST 73020233 are two low stony mounds, 4.5m in diameter and 0.3m high; the former being
partially overlain by a modern boundary along its east side. Both mounds are situated in woodland. Their close proximity to a known barrow group may be significant. Surveyed at 1:2500 on AM. <1>
Trust for Wessex Archaeology, 1986, Dorset Barrow Survey (Index). SDO134.
‘Visible as faint rises, the most northerly cut by the E boundary bank of Hanover Copse. They lie within the acute NE angle of the copse and may be barrows damaged by the construction of the copse. These small mounds are a characteristic size for barrows within this group. The trees within this group are mature beech and oak. 7/5/D.’
