Summary

A possible Bronze Age round barrow near the eastern end of Corton Hill. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 46 feet in diameter with a mound about 3 feet high. It is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs.

Full Description

A possible Bronze Age round barrow near the eastern end of Corton Hill, on the spine. Measuring 46ft in diameter and a height of 3ft <1-2>

A flat-topped steep-sided bowl barrow situated on the 'knife-edge' limestone ridge of Corton Hill. Diameter 15.0m., height 1.5m., No visible ditch. <3>

Also visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs <4-5>, measuring approximately 13 metres in diameter. This site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project. Some 9m. To the west of this barrow is a possible a pond barrow (MDO2083).
