Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow situated on the southern slope of a ridge at the western edge of Puddletown Forest. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 25 feet in diameter with a mound about 3 feet high, and very overgrown. The centre of the mound has been dug into, presumably in the course of antiquarian investigation.

Full Description

A bowl barrow cut into by the road on the north side. 7 paces diam. 3 ft high. <2>

A tree covered bowl barrow. Diameter 7.0 metres height 1.0 metres. No sign of ditch or excavation. The north-west side of the barrow has been destroyed by a forestry road. <3>

SY 7330 9291 Bowl barrow, 25 ft diameter and 3ft high, much overgrown and dug in the centre, situated on the west edge of Puddletown forest on the south slope of a ridge. <4>

SY 7329 9291. No change (3). No visible ditch. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5>

'(31) Bowl (73309291), on the W. edge of Puddletown Forest, lies on the S. slope of a ridge just above 400 ft. O.D. The centre has been dug into and the whole mound is very much overgrown. Diam. 25 ft., ht. 3 ft.'
