Full Description

(SY 55178889) "Large conspicuous unopened tumulus". <1>

Bowl barrow: diameteer 18 paces, height 3ft. <2>

Diameter 25ft, height 2 1/2ft. <3>

(SY 55228891). A bowl barrow, grass covered and with no visible ditch. diameter 9.0m, height 0.7m. <4>

The site of a bowl barrow on the top of a hill 400 metres north east of Look Farm. The barrow has a mound, previously recorded as being 10 metres in diameter, and 0.8 metres high, surrounded by a quarry ditch. This has become infilled over the years but survives as a buried feature 2 metres wide. The site is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs <7-8> and was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
