AC Archaeology conducted an archaeological desk based assessment in 1997 of land to the rear of Greenhill House in advance of a proposed extension to Sherborne School.

A study of historical maps revealed that Woolmington Brewery is marked on the 1886 OS 1st edition 1:500 map and a brewery is marked in the same place on the revised 1901 1:2500 OS map.[1]
