Full Description
The carved wooden head of a man, found walled up in a niche together with a newspaper of 22nd June 1749, in an upstairs chimney-breast, during the reconstruction of a seventeenth century cottage, is identified as a wigmaker's block. Judging by the moustache and absence of beard, it would appear to belong to the first half of the last century. It has been given by Mr. A. Frank, of Cow and Gate Farms, Ltd., East Farm. (1)
