Full Description
Two pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs {1-2}. They are considered likely to be the sites of post medieval extractive pits. These features were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
Not detected in the Winterbourne Abbas Corridor Geophysical Suvey in 2017 (EDO7852). However, field 216A was strongly distorted by overhead cables and ferrous debris. Nothing of obvious archaeological interest was noted in this field.
