Full Description
The White House on the beach at Swyre was a small stone building, used as a refuge for shipwrecked mariners and over the door was a Latin inscription bearing the date 1667. The house was destroyed many years ago. <2>
There are no visible remains of this 17th century mariners refuge. The site falls upon shingle foreshore with marshy ground on the N or landward side. <4>
