Full Description

The farm seems to have had the same possessors as at East Edward (SY 68 SW 23) but is not mentioned seperately; perhaps in former ages East Edward included the whole. <1>

SY598846. Close banks at West Elworth suggest village shrinkage. <2>

Bank and ditched field boundaries, probably associated with the medieval settlement at West Elworth, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs <3-4>. The features were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
