Old Gravel Pit shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1886 (OS 1886).
The feature is visible as an irregular ditched earthwork on Turnworth Down on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project (RAF 1947; EA 2018).
