Full Description
A Late Bronze Age palstave, ploughed up in Hoskins Field on Forde Grange farm (ST 3604), was purchased by Dorset County Museum in 1954.
The palstave, five inches long and unlooped with no ridge on the blade, was found within ten inches of ground surface, close to a filled in drainage trench. (1)

'(b) Forde Grange (ST 366046), Thorncombe. D.C.M. 1954.40 (purchased). Ploughed up by Mr. R. White in Hoskins Field "within ten inches of the surface, on or near site of filled in drain trench". Length 5 ins.; no loop, and no ridge on blade; stop-ridge of 'ledge' form, U-curved; blade expansion concave-sided; hafting end slightly damaged.'
