Summary

One of two attached cottages built in the 18th century. The building has walls of large blocks of dressed stone and a thatched roof with 19th-century brick chimney stacks. An attached wall of stone rubble joins this cottage to Sunnyside Cottage to the north.

‘The following monuments, unless otherwise described, are of the 17th century and of two storeys; the walls are of rubble and the roofs are thatched or covered with modern materials. Some of the buildings have exposed ceiling-beams and original fireplaces. … (3) COTTAGE, two tenements, on the E. side of the road, 175 yards W.N.W. of the church.’
