Full Description
A primary school dated 1833 and extended to rear in the late 19th century. It is of rendered cob with a hipped slate roof and is rectangular in plan with later 19th century rear extensions. The building is of a simple composition with Gothic details and is single-storey with a three window range. The late 19th century rear left wings are of brick with hipped and gabled slate roofs whilst to the rear right is a mid 20th century flat-roofed extension. The interior is plain but retains semicircular arch framing. An unusual example of a school building with cob walls, built under the patronage of prominent local families.
