Full Description
A bowl barrow, very flinty, partly overgrown with grass. The mound is rather irregular in plan and has been flattened on the top. The average diameter is 23.0 m and it is 1.0 m high. There is no visible ditch. <2>
A probable bowl barrow, 22 paces in diameter and 3 ft high. <3>
This bowl barrow is as described in report of 31.1.55 but has now been ploughed to an oval shape, 20.0 m north to south and 16.0 m east to west. Published 1:2500 survey revised. <5>
A mound thought to be a bowl barrow. In 1952 this monument was reported as being around 60 feet in diameter with a mound about 4 feet high. The feature is visible as a rather indistinct sub-oval earthwork with a pale flattened top on 1940s aerial photographs <6,7>. It measures approximately 17m long by 14.2m wide with the paler summit measuring approximately 10m by 8m. The images have poor resolution, however, and the feature is not clearly defined. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The feature is under vegetation and trees on current Google Earth imagery and not visible.
