Full Description

Sarsens. On Edge 6 feet long (quite likely to be what is here Called) ("Cromlesh") <2>

The stones are set up parallel, one to the other, but not quite opposite, and their axis is on a magnetic bearing of 335o. There is no trace of a mound. It is possible that there stones once formed part of a small chambered tomb of the gallery grave class, but without excavation this suggestion remains tentative. <3>

Perhaps the remnant of a chambered long barrow. <4>

Two standing stones; one 6ft long, 4ft high and 1ft. Thick; the other to the W., 6 1/2ft long 3 1/2ft high and 1 1/2ft thick. The stones are 1ft 9ins. Apart and staggered. <5>

Remains of a chambered long barrow, scheduled as an ancient monument. <6>

The description in T.4 and T.6 are full and accurate. The O.S. description of 'Standing Stones' (T.5) is mis-leading, since the stones bear a stronger resemblance to the remains of a chambered long barrow that to original free standing stones. The stones are situated in a grass covered field. <8>

No surface indication of flanking ditches. A.P.s examined - negative results. <9>
