Full Description
A subrectangular platform feature, approximately 20.1m x 26.4m, and a circular hollow are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs south of Sandford Lane (1). They are of uncertain date and function. It is possible they could be associated with post medieval or modern extractive activities. These features are not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project (2), the area now being under plantation. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
