Full Description
An area of post medieval field boundaries is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 2008 to the east of Church Hill, Brownsea Island. The boundaries are visible as narrow banks and ditches and form two sub-rectangular enclosures, aligned north-south. The enclosures measure up to 38 m by 32 m. They are located on the end of low-lying land which is predominantly currently covered by water, and may have been associated with land improvement or reclamation. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
