A pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Crichton's Heath taken in 1947 (1). It is considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval or modern extractive pit. It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). This feature still visible as an earthwork on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2).
