Full Description

A possible late post medieval or early modern groyne or jetty is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1969 on Mudeford Spit, to the north of Hengistbury Head. The structure extends to the west for a distance of approximately 25 m. (1) The groyne is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
