Full Description
A chain home radar station was constructed at Hengistbury Head early in the Second World War. It is visible as a ruined structure on aerial photographs of 1941 and had probably been replaced by this time by a site to the west (see WX4905). The site consists of a control building and two small compounds containing the transmitter and receiver masts to the south east and south west. Four building platforms are located immediately to the north the control building and may have been ancillary buildings associated with site. (1-2)
