Full Description
A camouflaged structure, part of a Chain Home radar station at Hengistbury Head, is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1947 to the west of Wick Hams. The site is formed of a circular mound, measuring 21 m in diameter, camouflaging a structure, possibly an air raid shelter or other ancillary building associated with the Chain Home radar station. Three small buildings are located to the south of the mound. A semi-circular barbed wire entanglement is located around the mound, extending from east to west. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
