Summary
Two Second World War slit trenches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1945 to the west of the Double Dykes. The trenches may have been associated with the defences around the Chain Home radar site (see MD28870) or RAF Southbourne (see MWX1164).

Full Description
Two Second World War slit trenches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1945 to the west of the Double Dykes. The trenches may have been associated with the defences around the Chain Home radar site (see MD28870) or RAF Southbourne (see MWX1164). The earthworks consist of an angled trench and a linear trench measuring up to 9 m in length. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
