Full Description
A line of Second World War beach scaffolding is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1945 immediately to the south of Double Dykes on Hengistbury Head. The line of scaffolding extends along the southern end of the Double Dykes and measures 85 m in length. Further beach scaffolding can been seen at the high water mark (see MDO28909). (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
