Full Description
A group of eight circular depressions are visible as dispersed earthworks on aerial photographs of Countess Point (1-2). They are considered likely to be the remains of bomb craters associated with Second World war activities in this area. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). They are still partially visible as cropmarks on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2).
