Full Description
A large area of Second World War bomb craters is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the west of Ferry Road, Studland Heath. Nine scattered craters are located around the north of the area. This area was used for military training. The craters are sub-circular and measure between 2 m and 10 m. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 390 m by 270 m. (1) Further areas of bomb craters are located to the north and east (see MDO29042 and MDO29040). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
