Full Description

A possible medieval or post medieval animal pound is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 to the west of Redend Point, Studland. The possible pound is sub-oval in shape, with banks and ditches defining the east, south, west and part of the northern side. It has an internal measurement of approximately 110 m by 57 m. (1) The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2 This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
