A probable post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 to the north of Heath Green Road, Studland. The pit is sub-rectangular and measures 17 m by 6 m. (1) The pit is located on the Broadstone Clay Member. The site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
