An area of possibly late post medieval to modern quarrying is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of California Farm, Swanage. The quarries are located on limestone, visible as pits over an area measuring approximately 200 m by 215 m. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South west Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
