Summary

A series of trackways are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs of Chaldon Down. They run adjacent to several late prehistoric round barrows (MDO7240-41 & MDO7243-44) suggesting they could be contemporary with them. Alternatively they could be associated with post medieval extractive activities in this area.

Full Description

A series of trackways are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs of Chaldon Down (1). They run adjacent to several late prehistoric round barrows (MDO7240-41 & MDO7243-44) suggesting they could be contemporary with them. Alternatively they could be associated with post medieval extractive activities in this area. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
