Two small circular pits are visible as earthwork on Lidar imagery (1), located just to the north of Tyneham Gwyle. It is possible they may be the remains of post medieval extractive pits. Alternatively they could be associated with Second World War activity in this area. These features was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
